This was my answer to the design challenge given by the website http://characterdesignreferences.com/

The months challenge (September 2016) was to design a character from the following paragraph: ''Far away, in a mysterious and forgotten land, lives a race of mythical creatures: the Centaurs. The capital of their kingdom, the Forest of Thessaly, is ruled by the laws of their wise king Chiron. Under his guidance the Centaurs have lived for many years a peaceful and happy life but recently two young rebels, Pholos and Nessos, are treating this lifestyle. They want to bring back their people on a war-path against their ancient enemies: mankind...''

My idea for the challenge was a Nordic centaur, my sketches were done behind the till at my work where i would later take them from the back of a receipt to illustrator for the majority of the piece my Intuos graphics tablet was used where small fixes were done with the mouse to pick and move brush points and change curve arcs.
